We joined forces with Christophe-Patrice Lemaire
in March 2002. Christophe started his career as an amateur rider,
this enabled him to gain experience whilst he finished his studies.
Christophe turned professional in 2001 and rode 26
winners. In 2002, he doubled that score and rode 52 winners and
won the Group 2 Prix Kergolay on Cut Quartz for the very successful
British trainer Richard Gibson. During the winter of 2002/2003, Christophe
was sponsered by Mr Teruya Yoshida to ride in Japan for 3 months,
this first experience in Japan turned out to be positive with 15
wins from just under a 100 rides.
2003 was a real revelation, the Group 1 Prix
Jean Prat and Grand Prix de Paris aboard Vespone for Nicolas Clement.
Denebola provided Christophe with his third Group 1 in the Prix
Marcel Boussac for classic winning trainer Pascal Bary. He finished
the season with 75 winners and finished the season in 6th place
in the jockeys championship •
